Change. Acceptance. Growth. Evolution.

On April 2, 2016, Michael received an urgent phone call from his mother, Gayle, that would forever change his life, the lives of his six younger siblings, and the lives of those in their extended family.

Tragically, Michael learned that his father, Jon, passed away due to a sudden accident at home without any warning. Jon was only 57 years old, perfectly healthy, and at the peak of his career. Michael was 33 years old and in the middle of his MBA program while living in a different city. It was the family’s worst nightmare. The grief from this incident was incredibly difficult and heartbreaking, and remains so to this day.

Fortunately, Gayle and Jon had their estate plan prepared in advance, thinking of their seven children. The family could focus exclusively on grieving and healing rather than enduring stress while going through an expensive, lengthy, and public probate process. Through this experience, Michael gained understanding that estate planning is an act of love by ensuring that wishes are clearly expressed in advance to prevent loved ones from unnecessarily suffering later.

Seeing a need to help families like his, Michael founded Evolved Legal in order to provide a higher level of estate planning services than performed by traditional law firms. Evolved Legal does estate planning differently by using a modern, client-focused approach. We treat clients as we want our own families to be treated, with a high degree of thoughtfulness, care, and respect.
